2010 Gratitude Challenge ~ Day 6

Today I'm thankful for our 15 passenger van, Beatrice.  Despite how much she's cost us, I'm thankful our whole family can pile in and go to town together, or take a trip.

We bought her this past Spring, only to have to replace her transmission immediately.  The first time we drove her somewhere further than 10 miles,  we had a tire blow-out, and we didn't have a spare tire.  We still need to replace the other tires before one of them blows out.  Next, the engine started stuttering when we would drive 60 mph.  We put her back in the shop a couple weeks ago to get the stuttering fixed.  After replacing a sensor and some wires,  she's running much more smoothly.  Thankfully, the engine wasn't the problem.

She  has rust on her,  has a cracked windshield we need to replace, as well as the tires.  The seatbelts in the back seat were replaced by a previous owner, and they didn't put the right ones in.  Why he even bothered, I don't know.  Thankfully, we don't need the back row yet, but we will replace those belts so we can take other people with us when we want to.

Despite all that, I'm still thankful for her.  We don't have a car payment, and she lets us travel together as a family.  That's important to us.

  5. I understand about having a vehicle which seats the entire family and which you do not have a car payment for! Both are a huge blessing, aren't they? Our own 2000 Yukon XL may have been in a couple of wrecks prior to our owning it--and it may have many miles on it, but we still love it because of all it allows our own family to do together.
