Book Review: Bible Stories Gone Crazy!

When I first requested to review Bible Stories Gone Crazy! by Josh Edwards, I thought it might be like a Look and Find book, which my children love. After it arrived from Kregel Publications, I realized it wasn't quite like those books. Each Bible story picture does have a lot going on, but the goal is to find what wacky things don't belong, more than finding hidden images.

The illustrations by Emiliano Migliardo are colorful and funny. Every single page has out of place items to spot. There are some "how many of these can you find" challenges, as well as just general questions about that particular Bible story. It is fun to sit and discuss the pictures with your kids and find the crazy things on each page. Don't forget to locate the teddy bears hiding in every picture!

The book is a well-made hardcover, measuring about 9x12 inches. The pages are laminated for durability. I tested them out with a write-on/wipe-off marker and they do work with the laminated pages. I'd be a little nervous about leaving it on for a long period, but it could make it easier for younger kids to find things if they can circle them and count afterwards.

I've had a lot of fun reading this with my 5 year old daughter and 7 year old son, but I've seen my 9 and 11 year olds each reading it, as well. It's a fun way to review some familiar Bible stories with your children!
